A Barcelona food blog
Like the thrill of being young when my photo from a school fundraiser or a girl guide event being in the local newspaper filled me with pride, similar feelings overwhelmed me last week when I bought a copy of this month’s Spanish wedding magazine Lucía Se Casa to find photos including some of my baking staring back at me from its glossy pages.
‘Rustic’ baked goods were my brief for this vintage beach wedding setting and I sent along a stack of fruit and nut oat cookies and bran muffins which were apparently a huge hit with the ants on the beach and, for those that survived, with the crew at the end of their long day.
Photographed by talented photographer Inés of Happinés and styled by the inspiring Vera Ciria of Sticky Fingers BCN, they made the short journey south down the coast, along with the rest of the team, to the quaint beach of Garraf. This bay, easily reached by train, is yet another gem only a stones throw away from the chaos of the city. The full range of photos which really capture their work that day can be viewed here. It was an honour and a pleasure to be asked to contribute and I’d like to express a huge thanks to them both for inviting me to join in. My tins, bowls and utensils are poised for the next opportunity.
